Ice Giant

I was able to capture the image of this massive Iceberg on July 6, 2012 near St. Anthony, Newfoundland in what is part of the famous “Iceberg Alley”.

This Iceberg is grounded in 454 feet of water while reaching 174 feet above the water and is some 800 feet long. The size of this Iceberg is approximately 4 times that of the Iceberg that sunk the Titanic.

Icebergs have a mass that is 1/8 above the water and 7/8 below the water surface.
