Three in a Row

Description

The once common sight of 3 or more grain elevators on the Canadian Prairie is quickly disappearing as more and more are lost to vandalism, fire and decay.

The Parish & Heimbecker (foreground), is still standing but in need of immediate attention.

The Pioneer Grain elevator (centre) was upgraded with a new roof, replacement of missing siding and a fresh coat of paint in 2020.

Finally, the former Searle Grain Elevator, is now in private ownership. It was reclad in 2011.

All three were built in the 1930’s along with the now defunct CPR Lomond Subdivision.
