Bell Island Battery

Description

This gun site which overlooks Conception Bay, Newfoundland, fired on German U-Boats that attacked and sank iron-ore container ships during World War II. These guns were manned by the Newfoundland Militia and are believed to be the only North American weapons to have fired on the enemy during World War II.
